Colors + Summer = Love

It’s a wonderful season, don’t you think? Sunny days, colorful outfits, amazing accessories, tanned skin, good mood and lots of outdoor fun. Sounds familiar? :)

I just love colorful jewelry these days! Well-chosen adornments have the power to create a great visual impact and also to make a statement by expressing all this joy. Just look at these necklaces, aren't they beautiful and suitable for wearing especially in summer?

Let there be GREEN

I said it before and I’m still staying it: I love GREEN in jewelry! It is elegant and sophisticated. It gives you a sense of distinction and there is no way to pass unnoticed if you wear green jewelry, especially to accessorize a black outfit.

I've decided to do an experiment a couple of days ago and search green jewelry on Pinterest. If you wonder what my picks were, here is my top:

De Grisogono mismatched earrings
Chopard Columbian emerald necklace - centrepiece of their Haute Joaillerie collection. 73 square and 830 round brilliant-cut white diamonds with 13 cascading pear-drop emeralds
Gemfields and Alexandra Mor 26.16ct elevated sugarloaf cabochon emerald ring

Gemfields’ bangle by Nam Cho - made with 23ct of Zambian emeralds in varying sizes of cabochon cuts for a dramatic and very tactile effect
I also liked this watch from Piaget because its green dial, of course. :)

Undercover – secret watches

Did you know that secret watches were a huge vogue in the 1930s, '40s and '50s? Their charm has never been lost as they still appeal women in love with beautiful adornments. Just imagine amazing pieces of jewelry which hide a secret that only the owner knows and she is proud to reveal it at the right moment, to everyone’s surprise.

Today watches are no longer just functional tools but accessories that emphasize your style and status. The fusion of watches and jewels is about craftsmanship and works of art.

Just look at these pieces and you will see what I’m talking about:

The Chopard Secret has a pave set diamond dial and square frame. The case is encrusted with brilliant, square and baguette-cut diamonds that weigh 19 carats. The strap is made of satin and boasts of a clasp made of baguette-cut diamond. Only two pieces of this model have been made.

Love is in the air

Heart-shaped jewelry has an emotional connotation and it’s common to receive adornments with such design from your life partner, either a boyfriend, fiance or husband.

Its beauty resides in its universal language ‘cause heart equals love, even affection, in every culture. When offered with such feeling and worn with the same emotion, jewelry pieces become more beautiful due to their profound meaning.

Waiting for the weekend

Just a little bit until the weekend, when we’ll have a lot of fun listening to good music, dancing and sipping our cocktails.

Speaking of them, I've recently discovered Piaget’s rings collection inspired by colourful and fruity cocktails. I totally understood how the brand came up with such an idea after checking out Piaget’s Pinterest page dedicated to Cocktail Inspiration Rings. This is what it’s written on their page: “sparkling gemstones evoke fascinating cocktails. Colourful, tangy, fruity... Piaget's Cocktail inspiration rings sparkle with a shimmering radiance that lights up the night, forming a set of exquisite invitations to succumb to life's most delightful pleasures.”

And the rings… my, oh my. J See it for yourself:
  • Limelight "Watermelon Dream" cocktail inspiration ring in 18K yellow gold, set with a cushion-cut rubellite, 280 brilliant-cut emeralds, 4 rubellite balls, 34 brilliant-cut yellow diamonds and 45 brilliant-cut diamonds

  • Limelight "Lemon Fizz" cocktail inspiration ring in 18K yellow gold, set with 13 brilliant-cut diamonds, 4 brilliant-cut emeralds, 2 rubellite balls, a sculpted peridot and an oval-cut "lemon" quartz

  • Limelight "Blue Moon" cocktail inspiration ring in 18K white gold set with one oval-cut amethyst, 100 round emeralds, 296 brilliant-cut diamonds, one round yellow sapphire, and sculpted white chalcedony

I would like to book a Piaget suite, please!

Just one day before the Oscars, another film award gala took place in Los Angeles: Film Independent Spirit Awards 2013, a ceremony in which the achievements of today’s independent filmmakers are recognized each year.

What does it have to do with my jewelry blog? Well, it has a lot as Piaget was the official sponsor of the Film Independent Spirit Awards. The company booked a suite on the top floor of the Regent Beverly Wilshire Hotel a few days before the event and “decorated” it with fine jewelry and watches ready to be picked by the stylists and stars who later participated at the gala.

The pictures taken at the award ceremony are available on Piaget’s Instagram page. I can’t help however to show you the photograph that caught my attention the most: actress Stephanie Crayencour wearing Piaget Couture Précieuse necklace Diamond Embroidery Inspiration - crafted in 18K white gold set with 1513 brilliant-cut diamonds (approx. 44.19 cts), 133 baguette-cut diamonds (approx. 16.77 cts), 4 pear-shaped diamonds (approx. 7.55 cts) and 11 rose-cut diamonds (approx. 5.96 cts).

Maybe because I’ve recently seen the necklace in a luxury magazine and I loved it the very first moment I laid my eyes on it. J
