A simple search on the internet can return amazing results to you. Be it images or stories, they can inspire you or simply amaze you. It’s such a pleasure to discover virtual springs of beauty and good taste, don’t you think? This is how I felt as I was looking through the collections of Fred Leighton a couple of days ago. Oh, how many beautiful pieces it has to offer!

Just look at these bracelets made between 1860 and 1940s and you’ll see what I mean.

Discovering new jewelry designers at IJL 2014

The best thing about trade fairs or other special gatherings with a given purpose or theme is that you have the chance to meet people with whom you share similar interests. You get to only speak briefly with some while with others you spend a little more time to find their story.

I've experienced both scenarios at International Jewellery London 2014, but my encounter with Hinna Azeem fits the second situation. She is a jewelry designer who grew up in London and has visited remote gemstone-rich regions, from Asia to Africa to South America, since childhood. I found out that, in terms of wearability, she really loves smoky quartz because she can get it in lots of different hues of brown.

As for her favorite jewelry items, Hinna was wearing them that day – her stacking rings, with sapphires and smoky Quartz.

Ladies and gentlemen, I present you H. Azeem London!

Jewelry at IJL 2014

A week has passed since my announcement about International Jewellery London (IJL) and I feel like I made it last month. So many beautiful things happened during my trip to UK that I needed time to digest all the information.

Getting back to the trade fair though, it was an excellent show! Starting with the facility to the exhibited jewelry and the people invited to participate at the fair. I discovered there a full range of techniques, gems and metals and the talented designers behind all of these. I suppose you already know how amazing it is to talk with someone who is passionate about his or her work and see it right there, on the spot.

I also remembered how great it is to travel. Not only that you meet interesting people, but you face new situations and cultures, both meaningful and inspiring. No wonder that many of the designers have pointed their trips to Asia, Africa or other places as their main source of inspiration used in their creations.

Ladies and gentlemen, here’s a glimpse of IJL 2014:

* Ozlem Ozturk Jewellery

* SARAH HO Fine Jewellery

* SIF JAKOBS Jewellery

* NEOLA by Andrea Hauer

* MAREE LONDON by Maria Thompson

* Montaldi Gioielli

* Joanna Bury

* Youjin Nam

* Kiki Tang

If you want to see more of the jewelry pieces which were exhibited and sold at IJL, then go to the official website of the show: www.jewellerylondon.com.

I am looking forward to having some interviews done with the designers I've met at IJL, so stay tuned! There's more to come!

The MOHITO Experience

If someone will ever ask me how the summer of 2014 looked like for me, I know for sure that besides all the fun I had and the beautiful people I've met this season, the organization of a store grand opening will always be on my list as well.

A couple of months ago my manager informed me that I was in charge with the organization of a lovely event - the opening of the first MOHITO store in Romania. It was the start of an interesting challenge which brought me close to the wonderful team of LPP Fashion (the company that has the brand).

I first saw the store on the day of the launching party (at the end of July), when I was really impressed by the beautiful clothes and the elegant atmosphere in it. The brand was rapidly appreciated by the first customers and the fashion editors who attended the event, while the opening was a success (if we were to consider the participants’ feedback, of course J).

I also had the pleasure to discover the MOHITO accessories that evening. Imagine my eagerness of coming back to the store as a blogger, not an event organizer. To have the time to take a better look at them, combine them with the right outfits and try everything on!

You can find all these beautiful accessories in MOHITO's online shop or if you'll ever be in Ploiesti, Romania, you can visit their store in AFI Palace shopping center.
